Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice was the only Premier League player to be named in UEFA’s Champions League team of the season.

The Gunners star was instrumental in his side’s run to the Champions League semi-finals, scoring two fantastic free-kicks in the first leg of their quarter-final against Real Madrid.

He is featured alongside a host of PSG stars, including Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue and Vitinha among others, after they won the competition by thrashing Inter Milan 5-0 in Munich.

Here’s the full team:

Goalkeeper: Gianluigi Donnarumma (PSG)

Defenders: Achraf Hakimi (PSG), Marquinhos (PSG), Alessandro Bastoni (Inter), Nuno Mendes (PSG)

Midfielders: Declan Rice (Arsenal), Vitinha (PSG),

Forwards: Lamine Yamal (Barcelona), Ousmane Dembele (PSG), Desire Doue (PSG), Raphinha (Barcelona)

UEFA have also crowned the winners of the individual awards, with PSG’s Dembele being named player of the season.

The Frenchman scored eight goals in the competition to help his side to win the trophy.

The young player award went to his PSG team-mate Doue, who netted a brace in the final victory over Inter.

Barca’s Yamal won goal of the season for his strike in Barca’s 3-3 first-leg draw at home to Inter.

“This season, the UEFA Champions League has embraced a new format, injecting fresh excitement and a higher level of competition,” UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin said.

“It has allowed more teams than ever to challenge for glory in the world’s most prestigious club competition and offered great thrills, excitement and the best football to billions of fans across the globe.

“The tremendous success of these reforms, made in a spirit of respect and understanding of all European football stakeholders – the clubs, the leagues and national associations – proves that the game can evolve to another level only by upholding the core values of open competition, sporting merit and solidarity. And when football thrives, everybody benefits.”
