Arsenal have enjoyed a remarkable start to the 2025/26 season, climbing up to first place on the Premier League table.
The Gunners lead second-placed Manchester City by four points, and even though the season is still early, they are in a terrific position to end their wait for a league title.
Arsenal’s title charge has been driven by some impressive performances across the park from back to front.
Football statistics platform WhoScored recently tallied their team of the season so far, and it was unsurprising to see that Arsenal players took the most slots.
Defender Gabriel Magalhaes makes the list after playing a massive role in keeping the Arsenal rearguard watertight.
The Gunners have only conceded six league goals this term, and it is thanks in large part to Gabriel, who has won 60% of his aerial and 78% of his ground duels.
The 27-year-old centre-back has also contributed a goal and two assists in 11 league appearances for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Lauded as ‘world-class’ by the Spanish tactician, the Brazilian is a colossus in both boxes.
Arsenal have already kept seven clean sheets, and that backline will be key to their chances of claiming a league title for the first time since 2004.
Right-back Jurrien Timber has also been magnificent for the North Londoners, taking the starting berth from Ben White.
Timber’s ability to lock down wingers and drive forward with the ball is impeccable, earmarking him as one of the best full-backs around and earning him a spot on the list.
Ahead of the defensive pair, Arsenal’s Declan Rice continues to demonstrate that he is one of the best midfielders in the world.
Rice is a beast of a player in the engine room, with his exceptional ball-carrying and duelling ability giving the Gunners thrust. His deliveries from set-pieces are equally mint.
The trio have played crucial roles in Arsenal’s title challenge so far and will hope to keep up the good work after the international break.
Arsenal will hope to put behind the anti-climactic draw with Sunderland and get back to winning ways when they lock horns with arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, November 23.
