In a recent report, The Sun mentioned that Arsenal have set their sights on Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento. It is believed that the Gunners are eyeing a move to bring the English full-back to North London, but would face competition from Manchester City in pursuit of him next summer.

Livramento’s Impressive Form In English Football

Livramento is having a solid campaign at the Tyneside club as he has put in a string of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The 23-year-old has participated in 18 matches for Newcastle this season, securing one assist in the process across all fronts.

The English talent has performed his defensive duties well and deserves credit for making 19 tackles, nine blocks, six interceptions and 35 clearances in the Premier League. He has even distributed possession accurately from the right flank based on his pass completion rate of 85.6% in the English top tier (stats via fbref.com).

His current deal at St. James’ Park will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for the Gunners to sign him on the cheap at the end of this campaign.

Is Livramento A Good Fit For Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta?

Livramento loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and can even create the odd chance for his teammates from the wide areas.

The English sensation mainly operates as a right-back but can also function as a left-back or as a right-sided wide player if told to do so. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Arsenal.

We can expect Livramento to bring more quality and depth to Mikel Arteta’s defence. He is good enough to compete for regular first-team football at the Emirates Stadium in the coming seasons.

At 23, Livramento has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a great fit for the Gunners in the long run. All in all, Arteta would be wise to move in for him next summer.
