PSG are reportedly gearing up for a transfer battle with Arsenal, AC Milan, Juventus, and Real Madrid for one of Spain’s most promising young defenders. Arsenal seem to have the early edge, with reports indicating they’ve already reached a personal agreement with the player.

While PSG finished last season with one of the best defensive records in Ligue 1, questions still linger at the back. Lucas Hernandez is back in the mix but still working his way back from a major injury. Marquinhos remains a key leader, though his physical edge isn’t quite what it once was.

Presnel Kimpembe continues to be a respected presence in the squad, but his long-term fitness remains a concern. Luis Enrique has been encouraged by Lucas Beraldo’s development, though the Brazilian is still viewed more as a depth option than a guaranteed starter.

Marca previously reported that Real Madrid are already eyeing next summer’s free agents, with Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly and Cristhian Mosquera both on their radar.

Foot Mercato added that Mosquera is also a target for PSG this summer as the club looks to bring more youth into its central defense. A regular for Valencia, the defender could be sold to help the Spanish side ease financial pressure.

CaughtOffside reported on Friday, citing sources, that Mosquera has rejected Valencia’s contract offer, signaling his intent to take the next step in his career with a move to the Premier League—specifically to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

The report adds that Mosquera has already agreed to personal terms with Arsenal, giving the Gunners a clear advantage in completing the deal.

Arsenal’s reported proposal includes a significantly higher salary than Valencia’s €3 million-per-year offer, along with the chance to play Champions League football and compete for major trophies.

With Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba firmly established as starters, the Gunners are looking to add depth in central defense to meet the demands of both the Premier League and Champions League next season.
