William Saliba has been ruled out of Arsenal’s Carabao Cup game with Brighton on Wednesday.

The Gunners defender was taken off at half-time of the 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

And boss Mikel Arteta has confirmed that he will not be available for the Carabao Cup fourth round clash, though says he is unclear as of yet how long the Frenchman will miss.

“He’s out,” Arteta said.

“We are assessing him, but he won’t be involved this match.”

Gabriel Martinelli is also likely to miss out through injury, Arteta says.

“It looks as well that he’s going to be out,” the Gunners boss said. “We have to, again, do some more tests and see the extent of the injury, but this game is going to be too early for him.”

But Declan Rice and Riccardo Calafiori are expected to play a part after coming off against Palace with injury concerns.
