Perhaps all Jack Grealish needed was a bit more freedom to do what he does best.

The Englishman was instrumental in Everton's first goal on Sunday, showing a glimmer of the kind of player we know he can be despite struggling last season.

Grealish picked up the ball along the left wing (as he's done much of the game) and fizzed a quality cross into Iliman Ndiaye for the first goal ever at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

That's his first assist of the season now, after only two games. Comparatively, he only registered one for Manchester City all of last season in the Premier League.

Then in the second half, he didn't stop. Grealish calmed the flow of the game down and thought to cut back the ball to James Garner, who smashed home from range for 2-0.

That's two goal involvements in his last 49 Premier League appearances combined. Is he back to his fluid, creative best?
