Dayann Methalie (20) is one of the breakout stars of the Ligue 1 campaign, and the Frenchman is now attracting interest from clubs across Europe, as per a report from Téléfoot.

Last summer, it was Jaydee Canvot who made the step from Toulouse FC to the Premier League after just one season in the French top-flight. Methalie, it would seem, could be on a similar trajectory. A flying full-back, the France U21 international (four caps, two goals) has made 30 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring twice and registering two assists. He has helped his formative club to a comfortable mid-table finish in the league.

And he could now be on the move. As per a report from Téléfoot, the left-back was the subject of enquiries from Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Borussia Dortmund during the winter transfer window. Asked by Téléfoot about interest from some of Europe’s top clubs, Methalie responded, “It is flattering. One day, I will have to leave. I would like to play at the highest level. For now, I have to keep doing what I’m doing.”
