Aston Villa join Leipzig & AC Milan in race for Caen youngster Tidiam Gomis | OneFootball

According to a report from L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi, Premier League side Aston Villa have began negotiations for a young French winger from Ligue 2 side Caen, Tidiam Gomis (18). At the end of his contract in June 2025, the French U19 International has made 19 appearances in all competitions for the Nomandy-based side this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists. Tanzi reports that Villa have been keen on the French youth market in recent weeks, and have initiated talks with the Caen leadership structure, majority-owned by Real Madrid and France star Kylian Mbappé. Les Vikings have been in difficulty since the arrival of the Mbappé clan at the club. Caen currently sit 16th in Ligue 2, despite initial hopes of a promotion push before the start of the season. It won’t be as easy as done for Villa however, with RB Leipzig and AC Milan also interested in the winger according to Sky Germany correspondent Florian Plettenberg. He reports that discussions are ongoing concerning a permanent transfer in the winter or a free move in the summer.GFFN | George Boxall
