Barcelona are poised for a busy end to the summer transfer window, with both signings and exits expected to occur. In terms of the latter, there are a number of candidates that are primed to depart the Spotify Camp Nou, such as Marc Casado, Roony Bardghji and even Ferran Torres, who’s being courted by Paris Saint-Germain.

On top of this, there have been rumours throughout the summer relating to Premier League interest in Marc Bernal. Manchester United saw an approach knocked back a few weeks ago, while city rivals Manchester City have identified the teenager as a possible replacement for Rodri, who has been linked with a move to Catalonia.

A third English club have now joined the party, with reports in England (via MD) claiming that Aston Villa want to sign Bernal this summer. The reigning Europa League champions are reportedly willing to make an opening offer of €35m, although this is far, far below any valuation that Barcelona have for the La Masia graduate.

Barcelona intend to block all Bernal offers

Bernal may not have featured too prominently over the last 12 months, but he is a player that Barcelona have very high hopes for. Thus, the club has informed interested parties that no offers will be entertained, and they are protected by the midfielder having a €500m release clause in his contract.

The likelihood is that Bernal plays a key role for Barcelona during the 2026-27 season. He has many chances to begin the campaign as a starter due to Frenkie de Jong being out long-term with a knee injury, while Pedri and Gavi will need to build themselves up to full fitness due to returning later in pre-season after their exploits at the 2026 World Cup.

It’s no surprise that Barcelona will not allow Bernal to leave this summer, and as long as the player does not push for an exit, he should remain at the Spotify Camp Nou for many years to come.
