The Villans are keen on the Hammers' talisman.

Jarrod Bowen's future has been one of the most prominent topics in English football, with West Ham's talisman regularly linked with a move away from the London Stadium.

The 29-year-old is part of a collective of Hammers talent, including Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville, who many think will garner a big move following the club's relegation to the Championship.

What separates Bowen from Fernandes and Summerville is his special bond with the Irons, and he has reportedly been at loggerheads with his wife, Dani Dyer, over leaving his beloved club.

Aston Villa are the latest club to be linked with the England international, but there is one clear obstacle they must overcome if they are to land him.

If Bowen is to depart West Ham, then a Premier League move seems a near certainty, with clubs like Chelsea, Tottenham and Everton among those interested.

It is clear to see why the 29-year-old has already garnered so much interest this summer, as the winger has notched 65 goals and 54 assists in 238 top-flight appearances and has remained consistent season after season.

Now, Villa have expressed strong interest in Bowen and recently made their admiration firmly known, although there have been no club-to-club talks as yet, according to The Athletic's Jacob Tanswell and Roshane Thomas.

The Villans view a deal as currently difficult due to financial limits, and while Unai Emery is a huge admirer, the player remains undecided whether he wishes to leave the Hammers.

The former Hull City man still has four years remaining on his contract, having signed an extension in October 2023.

How much would West Ham be looking to get for Bowen?

While Premier League relegation may have weakened the Irons' stance, it seems they are going to stand firm over their star players, including Bowen.

The report from The Athletic goes on to state that industry sources say they would expect talks for the player to start at £50million, while sources close to the club have indicated they are not looking to sell.

That sort of figure should certainly not be sniffed at as it would fall just short of the initial £53m Chelsea paid Southampton midfielder Roméo Lavia in 2023, the highest fee ever paid for a Championship player.

Aston Villa were unable to spend substantially last summer due to PSR (profit and sustainability rules) concerns, and they may find spending equally tough this time round.

A potential route to landing Bowen could arise if the West Midlands club were to sell prized asset Morgan Rogers, who has been linked with a move to Premier League champions Arsenal.

Not only is the England international reportedly keen on the move, but the Villans would surely yield close to £100m for such a transfer.

How Aston Villa fans are reacting to Bowen news

Despite Bowen's quality, several Villa supporters have expressed concern at the potential finances of such a deal.

However, one fan could clearly see the upside of bringing the Englishman to Villa Park.
