There have not been a lot of doubts in Hansi Flick’s mind regarding his starting eleven at FC Barcelona this season, but one area where he has had some difficulty is the center-forward position.
The German tactician kept a delicate balance between Ferran Torres and Robert Lewandowski in this position, and both of these players have performed at a satisfactory level.
Last night, in the match against Osasuna, both of these players contributed with goals and helped their team get a difficult 1-2 win at El Sadar.
As was the case with the Pole, Mundo Deportivo reports that the Spaniard also talked to the media after the match, and talked about his team’s closeness to winning the league title and the difficult game they had won.
The forward was clear that he wants to wrap up La Liga as soon as possible:
“We want to be champions as soon as possible, so we can enjoy it sooner… If they don’t win, we’re already champions. I think today was one of the toughest grounds in the league, where we knew that three points here meant more than just three points, and I think the team played a fantastic game.”
The Spaniard also highlighted what changed after the first half:
“At halftime, we figured out how they were hurting us. For me, the second half was one of the best matches we’ve played.”
The Valencian once again talked about the possibility of becoming champions on Sunday night:
“We knew it was one of the toughest matches of the season; this is a very difficult ground. We did our job, and we did it very well. Now we wait until tomorrow to see what Madrid does, and hopefully we can become champions.”
Meanwhile, the forward also praised the achievements of Barcelona this season:
“The numbers speak of a champion Barça. They speak of a very young Barça that continues to improve game by game. I think this Barça will bring many smiles to Barça fans.”
Although he faced difficulties scoring goals at the start of this year, it seems that Ferran Torres has gotten his scoring touch back, and hopefully, we will get to see some more goals from him before the 2025-26 season officially ends.
