Berat Djismiti believes that Atalanta will face a tough test against AC Milan, a team that he considers to be close to Inter’s level.

The game between Milan and their Lombardy neighbours Atalanta on Sunday night is a big one for both sides, but for entirely different reasons. The Rossoneri need to try end a difficult campaign with a late surge, both for dignity and to try and get a European spot.

Meanwhile, La Dea remain just about in the title race even if they have dropped off a bit in recent weeks, with Inter and Napoli now the two frontrunners. The Bergamo club must try get over the line in the top four race as quickly as possible, with the gap to fifth having shortened a bit.

Djimsiti should start in the three-man defence that Gian Piero Gasperini regularly uses, and he was interviewed by L’Eco di Bergamo about the upcoming game. MilanNews relayed his words.

Why are Milan struggling so much?

“Seen from the outside it is difficult to judge. I think they have paid the price for the numerous changes of coach and players, perhaps losing a bit of certainty. Despite this, in terms of individual quality, they remain among the strongest teams in the league, close to the level of Inter.”

How big is Sunday’s game?

“Every game counts, I don’t think this one against Milan is more important than others already played. After the defeat against Inter we lost the chance to aim for the Scudetto, but now we have to focus only on the next three points.”

Have you thought about scoring at San Siro?

“As a kid I played up front, I was the tallest and scoring was fun. A goal at San Siro would be fantastic, but the real objective is to win. As a defender I learned to read the movements of the attackers and who knows, maybe one day it will also help me find a decisive goal.”
