Atalanta have dismissed head coach Raffaele Palladino less than a year after taking charge. The club said in a statement on Tuesday.

Palladino, previously at Monza and Fiorentina, was appointed in November, five days after Atalanta split with Ivan Juric during their worst start in 11 years.

He could not lift Atalanta beyond seventh in Serie A, which secured only a Europa Conference League place.

Atalanta were also heavily beaten by Bayern Munich in the Champions League round of 16, losing 1-6 and 4-1 for a 10-2 aggregate.

Palladino, 41, leaves despite having a contract through to 30 June 2027. The club also confirmed the departure of his entire staff, including long-time assistant Stefano Citterio.
