This could be the year of the under-23s in Serie A.
Among the players who are shining at the start of the season is Lorenzo Bernasconi.
On Sunday, he led Atalanta to a comeback against Napoli, and the eyes of the big clubs are starting to shift towards him.
Gian Piero Gasperini is ready to do anything for him, writes Il Giornale.
Roma made an attempt in January at the coach’s explicit request.
They made a €15 million offer for the winger, but Atalanta rejected the offer and sent him back to Trigoria.
Bernasconi has become a transfer target for Roma.
With Zeki Celik’s contract expiring, Wesley returning to the right, Kostas Tsimikas returning to Liverpool, and Angeliño no longer a certainty, Gasperini will need a new left-back.
This summer, Roma will once again be looking for the 2003-born player, knowing that convincing Atalanta to let him go will cost more than €15 million.
