Athletic to open Lezama to fans on Thursday 16 July

Athletic will open their Lezama training ground to supporters on Thursday 16 July, Edin Terzic announced at his first press conference as head coach.

According to El Correo, the German was enthusiastic about allowing public access to the club’s base, though he stressed it would not become a regular practice, in keeping with recent years.

He underlined that discretion is essential in the modern game. Having been in the role only a few days, he said it was not his place to judge decisions taken previously when asked about more frequent open sessions.

The first open training is scheduled in nine days, shortly after the team’s summer opener against Derio.

Further open dates were not announced.
