Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has once again spoken highly of Barcelona, giving credit to Hansi Flick’s team for their style of play and individual quality.
While Atletico are struggling in La Liga with just two points from their last three games and sitting in 17th place, Simeone did not shy away from complimenting the Blaugrana.
Barcelona, under Flick, have shown signs of balance, energy, and attacking freedom, with several players stepping up to lead the squad.
Despite the pressure on Atletico, Simeone was clear in his admiration for what Barça are building.
During his latest press appearance, Simeone openly praised Flick’s work at Barcelona. “My favourite team? Barcelona. Good coaches are those who manage to bring out the best in their players.
“They play vertically, positionally, and their wingers are very important. Raphinha last season, not to mention Yamal, Pedri. They have a great team.”
This is strong recognition coming from a rival coach who has often been one of Barça’s toughest opponents over the years.

His words explain how quickly Flick has managed to earn respect within Spanish football, not only through results but also through the way his team is playing.
This is not the first occasion where Simeone has highlighted Barcelona’s strengths.
A few months ago, after Atletico lost to Barça, he was equally generous with his compliments.
“I’ve already said that Barcelona is the team that plays the best, as a team, and has great individual players, due to their hierarchy.
“Half of their goals have come from crosses. They have good responses,” highlighted Simeone.
Simeone’s repeated admiration shows that even rivals acknowledge the growth of this Barcelona side.
With Flick bringing out the best in talents like Lamine Yamal, Pedri and Raphinha, the Blaugrana are shaping up to be one of the most dangerous and respected teams in Europe once again.
