Atletico Madrid closing in on €18m purchase of Stuttgart’s Enzo Millot | OneFootball

Kicker and Sport Bild both report that VfB Stuttgart attacker Enzo Millot has been released from the squad amid ongoing transfer negotiations with Atletico Madrid. The La Liga outfit has until the end of the month to obtain Millot via an €18m release clause in his current contract. Millot’s Bundesliga club has long treated the 23-year-old’s departure this summer as a given.

According to Kicker, Millot’s move to Galatasaray is now off the table after talks proceeded nowhere. Atletico now seem to hold all the cards and there appears little standing in the deal’s completion. Los Colchoneros will surely be keen to acquire a €35m-valued player at approximately half his current estimated valuation.

Atletico have six days to finalize the transfer via the exit clause. Millot’s next scheduled appearance with his current club is scheduled for Monday. Should the French youth international and Olympic Silver Medalist remain absent for the first VfB training session after the weekend, one can assume that the deal has been sealed.
