Atlético Mineiro host Mirassol in the Brasileirão on Saturday, 16 May 2026 at Arena MRV, with the hosts seeking mid-table traction and the visitors aiming to climb out of the relegation zone.
Atlético Mineiro edged last season's head to head, winning at home after a draw away, and arrive with a chance to steady their league campaign against a Mirassol side currently in the bottom four.
Galo have taken four points from their past two league games and also won a cup tie on penalties away to Ceará. Mirassol's momentum is stronger across competitions, with four wins and a draw in their last five, including victories over Corinthians, LDU Quito and RB Bragantino.
In terms of availability, the hosts are without Gustavo Scarpa, Ruan, Victor Hugo, Patrick and Hendel Índio. Mirassol miss forwards André Luís and Negueba, plus defenders Igor (number 16) and Igor (number 32).
With Atlético-MG on 18 goals for and 21 against from 15 matches, and Mirassol at 16 scored and 20 conceded in 14, both defences have given up chances. Galo were hit for four at home by Flamengo recently, while Mirassol have been scoring in twos during their wins, so set pieces and quick transitions could be decisive.
A home win would move Atlético-MG to 21 points and could nudge them towards the Copa Sudamericana places. Mirassol are on 13 points in the relegation zone. Three points would take them to 16 and could bring them closer to safety.
