Atlético Madrid make contact over deal for Man City star | OneFootball

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have initiated contacts with the board at Manchester City, over the signing of a member of the latter’s midfield ranks.

The Sky Blues star in the sights of Diego Simeone and co? Tijjani Reijnders.

Dutch international Reijnders is fresh off what proved to be a largely underwhelming debut campaign in the Premier League.

After an encouraging start to life in Manchester following his arrival from AC Milan, the 27-year-old saw his prominence dwindle as the season wore on.

All told, Reijnders managed starts in half of the Citizens’ 38 Premier League fixtures.

And as alluded to above, such woes appear to have alerted one of Spanish football’s leading clubs to the midfielder’s potential availability this summer.

As per a report from transfer insider Matteo Moretto:

‘Exclusive report on Radio MARCA. Atlético de Madrid have contacted Manchester City about Tijjani Reijnders.

It now remains to be seen if the board at the Metropolitano are willing to meet the financial demands laid out by their counterparts at The Etihad.
