Audax Italiano are being investigated by Conmebol over an alleged water cut at Estádio Bicentenario La Florida in Santiago during their Copa Sul-Americana group-stage opener against Olimpia.
After Olimpia's 2-0 win earlier in April, goalkeeper Gastón Olvera told reporters there was no water in the dressing room and said the squad could not shower, adding that such things happen. The club said in a statement that municipal works in the area led to one of the ducts serving the visitors' dressing room being shut.
Days later, Conmebol opened a disciplinary case. Its competition rules require clubs to provide safe and comfortable facilities appropriate to the level of the tournament, including hot showers, toilets and suitable spaces.
The Chilean side could be fined and ordered to play behind closed doors. The case has not yet been concluded.
Audax Italiano face Vasco on Wednesday at seven pm Brasília time in the fourth round of the competition.
