German-Greek striker Thomas Kastanaras has joined FC Augsburg on a permanent deal from VfB Stuttgart.
The 23-year-old has signed a contract until 2027, which includes an option for a one-year extension.
“We were determined to sign Thomas. He has a lot of potential that he has not yet been able to fully show. We want to gradually develop him through playing time with the U23s and believe he can take the next step,” said FC Augsburg sporting director Benni Weber.
Kastanaras scored seven goals and provided three assists for Stuttgart’s reserves in the 3. Liga last season. This season, he has yet to feature due to a knee injury.
“I’m excited for this new chapter here in Augsburg,” said Kastanaras, who made four appearances for Stuttgart’s first team.
“The club has shown me a clear path. I want to get back to full fitness, find my rhythm, and develop step by step.”
