Ayrton Lucas says he has not received any offer to leave Flamengo and hopes to stay, speaking in the mixed zone at Estádio do Algarve. The left-back, under contract until December 2027, has started during the mid-season camp while Alex Sandro is with Brazil.

According to Globo.com, left-back is a position the club are monitoring but it is not a priority. Flamengo would only consider a deal for Ayrton if another option were lined up, and there is a possibility of Viña returning early from his loan at River Plate, which has signalled a desire to end the contract but still needs an agreement with Flamengo.

He is regarded as important in Leonardo Jardim’s rotation, particularly as Alex Sandro has struggled to sustain a long run of games.

In 2026, Ayrton has 19 appearances, 13 as a starter, and three assists. He finished the friendly against River wearing the captain’s armband.

He described daily life at Flamengo as hectic, said nothing had reached him and that his focus remains on the club, adding he wants to win more titles. Ayrton also called the armband an honour, said the match was difficult and spoke of helping youngsters seize a golden opportunity.

Flamengo face Lausanne-Sport of Switzerland on Wednesday eight, with plans to hand academy players extended minutes. Kick-off is 16:30, Brasília time.
