Ayyoub Bouaddi is expected to make a decision on his future soon with Manchester City 'pushing hard' to sign the Lille midfielder.
Bouaddi's excellent performances forMorocco at this summer's World Cup have ignited a fierce battle to secure his services, with Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal having all held contact with the player's representatives.
Paris Saint-Germain are also admirers, but are not expected to pursue a deal this summer. That decision leaves English clubs in an advantageous position withThe Athletic reporting that City are working hard on a deal.
The Cityzens view Bouaddi as a long-term successor to Rodri in midfield, with the latter out of contract next summer. Rodri is understood to beopen to a return to La Liga, though there is an expectation that he will see out his deal at the Etihad.
Enzo Maresca's side have brought in Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest in a £116m club record deal, though doubts remain over the futures of Mateo Kovacic, Nico Gonzalez and Tijjani Reijnders. Bernardo Silva has also left for Real Madrid on a free transfer.
Lille are prepared to sell Bouaddi if their valuation is met, set at around €100m (£85m). At 18 years old, that fee would place the Moroccan midfielder among the top-five most expensive teenagers of all time. However, it's fee that is described as 'prohibitive' to several suitors.
