After delivering the best season of his career, capped by a Champions League trophy, Vitinha is among the frontrunners to lift the Ballon d’Or.

Even though his PSG teammates Ousmane Dembélé and Achraf Hakimi, as well as Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, appear to have a better shot, the 25-year-old midfielder isn’t throwing in the towel.

The Portuguese international (29 caps) shared his thoughts at Cidade do Futebol ahead of the trip to Yerevan, where Portugal will take on Armenia in the opening round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

I see it very positively. It was a dream season, one I’ll definitely remember throughout my career. I hope it’s not the best yet—that the best is still to come. It was an almost perfect, if not perfect, season. I felt great and worked hard. I’m among the nominees, so I can aim for a strong finish. I’ve already said that first place would suit me just fine.

The Vila das Aves native netted 8 goals and provided 5 assists in 59 appearances across all competitions last season.
