Ballon d’Or top 30 list prediction: Inter star duo in, Barella out | OneFootball

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Hakan Calhanoglu will be included in the Ballon d’Or top 30 list, while Italy international Nicolò Barella will be left out, and Yann Sommer will be a Yashin Trophy candidate.

France Football will reveal the 30 contenders for the 2024 Ballon d’Or today, and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the list will include Inter stars Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu.

Martinez was the top scorer in the Serie A and Copa America last season and won both trophies with Inter and Argentina.

Gazzetta suggests that Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior are among the favourites to win the most prestigious individual award in football this year, but the personal and team results achieved by Lautaro last season make the Argentinean worthy of the top five.

According to Gazzetta, Lautaro and his Inter teammate Calhanoglu will be among the top 30 players today, while Barella won’t be on the list.

The 27-year-old ranked 27th in the latest edition and was the only Italian in the top 30. Lautaro Martinez ranked 20th, while Victor Osimhen (8th) was the best-placed Serie A player in 2023.

Inter’s Yann Sommer is also expected to get recognition today and be one of the candidates for the Yashin Trophy for the best-performing goalkeeper.

The top 30 players and the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner will be announced on October 28 during a ceremony at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.
