Bamba Dieng and Igor Silva among eight Lorient players to leave the club | OneFootball

The summer roster shakeup continues at FC Lorient. After officially announcing the departures of head coach Olivier Pantaloni – who has been replaced by Alexandre Dujeux – and captain Laurent Abergel (33), who has transferred to OGC Nice, the Breton club confirmed the departures of eight more players this Friday.

On loan from Olympique de Marseille, Bayer Leverkusen, Lommel SK, and Newcastle United, respectively, Bamo Meïté (24), Abdoulaye Faye (21), Dermane Karim (22), and Trevan Sanusi (19) are all set to return to their parent clubs. With their contracts expired, Bamba Dieng (26), Darlin Yongwa (25), Sambou Soumano (25), and Igor Silva (29) have not been retained by Les Merlus and are now free to sign with any club of their choosing.

Looking at new signings, while young Gabin Bernardeau (20) is expected to arrive soon from Nice and FC Nantes’ Johann Lepenant (23) may well follow suit, only right back Alec Georgen (27) – formerly of USL Dunkerque – has so far joined the Tango et Noir squad.
