Barcelona’s single-biggest goal for the summer transfer window is to complete as many signings as possible before the start of the FIFA World Cup.
They have already got off on the right foot with Anthony Gordon and are hoping to follow suit with the other priority targets, one of whom is Bernardo Silva.
The Manchester City midfielder, after all, is a free agent and the Catalans eye him as a high-quality reinforcement available for a low economic investment.
For close to a week now, the world has been going around with the idea that Barcelona have an agreement with Silva and that the player is dreaming of the move as well.

However, the deal has seemingly found itself stuck at the final step and was said to be pending Hansi Flick’s approval.
Now, as relayed by TV3, Barcelona do indeed have a complete agreement with the Portuguese star’s agent Jorge Mendes over the transfer and its terms. Flick, in fact, has already approved the operation as well.
The club, however, see the move to be a conditioned one that will be sanctioned and taken forward as soon as they complete the sale of an existing player.
A departure, likely that of Marc Casado or Roony Bardghji, is seen to be critical before finalising Silva’s arrival.

While Barcelona are actively making progress in terms of negotiating new signings, they are also silently working on the departure front to ensure that sales go through as expected.
Bardghji’s sale, on that front, is an operation that is being prioritised with several clubs being interested in his signing. At this moment, Ajax are the strongest contenders to land him should he leave Catalonia.
Casado’s departure, however, looks more complicated given the relative deficiency of interested parties. AS Monaco, at this point, have been most closely linked with the star.
