Barcelona believe they have found the club’s next ‘gem’ in their academy | OneFootball

Those behind the scenes at La Liga giants Barcelona believe another future star in the making is currently developing in the club’s academy setup.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point to Baba Kourouma as the player in question.

Kourouma, for his part, is the brother of former Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba.

The 16-year-old is a gifted central defender, who has long been considered one of the standout up-and-coming talents in Catalunya’s capital.

Despite his tender years, Kourouma is already a regular at U19 level.

He has even managed to catch the eye of Hansi Flick, culminating in a call-up to senior Blaugrana training prior to the club’s La Liga meeting with Real Oviedo last month.

In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear of excitement surrounding the stopper’s future prospects beginning to mount, amid the collective belief that Barcelona have found their next ‘gem’ in Kourouma.
