Barcelona are seriously considering signing Marcus Rashford from Manchester United this summer, as per reports.

Ever since it became clear that Ruben Amorim has no place for him in his first-team plans, Rashford and his representatives have been flirting with a move to Barcelona.

Aston Villa succeeded in signing Rashford on loan in January and also agreed an option worth £40million (€47.5m) to sign him permanently at the end of the season. However, it has been widely suggested Rashford isn’t keen on staying at Villa, as he has set his sights on Camp Nou.

According to Catalan publication Sport, Barcelona are now working on finding a solution to get the deal over the line, as the dynamic left-winger is appreciated by the club’s hierarchy.

Rashford is reportedly willing to take a considerable pay cut to join Barcelona, who also want the England international to snub all other possible moves. As they believe this will force United to accept their proposal.

It is claimed the La Liga outfit want to sign the 27-year-old on loan with an option to buy. Further, they also want the Premier League giants to cover a small portion of his salary.

However, Fichajes claim United expect to be paid around €47m for Rashford’s services.

Should the Mancunians continue to play hardball during negotiations, Barcelona could be forced to meet United’s asking price due to Hansi Flick.

The Spanish outlet reports that Flick’s “insistence could be key in the decisions” of sporting director Deco.

The German manager is determined to include Rashford in his project, as he believes the forward’s profile is ideal for his style of play.

The United academy product’s pace and directness would work wonders in Flick’s high-intensity, end-to-end football.

It will be interesting to see who blinks first between all parties involved, including Amorim, as recently The Peoples Person relayed a report suggesting INEOS might ask their head coach to settle differences with Rashford.
