With the summer transfer window still ongoing, FC Barcelona continue to consider different market opportunities. However, even though progress with most operations has been slow, the club remains committed. Currently, Barcelona remains more focused on departures it seems.

The sale of Pau Victor to Portuguese side Braga was wrapped up recently, but fortunately that ended on a positive note. Beyond that, the club is reportedly working on other exit operations as well that they would like to wrap up sooner rather than later.

However, loan deals have also been a consistent avenue for the club to offload players temporarily. Either due to salary-related issues or simply because the club does not wish to permanently lose certain players, loan operations are quite valuable.

Barcelona now considering a permanent sale for Virgili

In the case of promising 19-year-old winger Jan Virgili, that seemed to be the plan originally as well. With RCD Mallorca coach Jagoba Arrasate reportedly having called him to convince him of a potential loan move, things seemed to be moving in that directly.

However, considering the latest update from Fichajes, that no longer seems to be the case. Instead, it is now a permanent transfer that is being considered for the Spanish winger as Barcelona end up making a U-turn on their decision due to certain factors.

Reportedly, the club believes that due to Virgili not having a place in Hansi Flick’s plans for next season, coupled with the need to make some space in the youth setup, a permanent deal could be viable. As for the financial terms of the deal, those have not been revealed explicitly just yet.

A similar structure to Pablo Torre’s exit

However, JijantesFC (via Mundo Deportivo) has reported that Barça are looking to pursue a sale with a structure similar to that of Pablo Torre’s exit. One that would likely involve a transfer fee alongside certain measures to let the Catalan club have some level of control over the player’s future through certain clauses.
