FC Barcelona continues to assess the operations that they still have to sort out before the end of the transfer window. For La Blaugrana, it is imperative to wrap up those operations in order to avoid any late complications. Still, exits seem to be the priority for Barcelona right now.
The Catalan club is still reportedly working on various exit operations and is assessing the viability of each of them. Some operations seem to be far more feasible than others, and it makes sense for Barça to try to wrap those up sooner.
Currently, one of the names that remains linked to a summer exit is that of 29-year-old Danish defender Andreas Christensen. With the player having a very limited role in the team last season and with there being too many centre-backs at the club right now, it made sense as to why Barça were open to selling him.

However, it seems now that the club’s plan has changed. Despite originally being open to a summer exit for the player, La Vanguardia now reports that the lack of offers for him coupled with his desire to remain at the club have now put Barcelona in a position to reconsider their original stance.
Instead, the club might now have to look for alternative avenues to generate income or free up space. Reportedly, the option of possibly offloading Ronald Araujo still remains something that the club is not completely shutting off and they would be willing to negotiate a departure for the right price.
As for other players such as Jules Kounde and Eric Garcia, their continuity seems to be secure enough. Despite primarily operating as right-backs for Hansi Flick’s team, they both can offer their services as centre-backs as well. Moreover, especially with the Frenchman, renewal negotiations seem to be advanced.
However, the two starters for Hansi Flick’s team remain undisputed for now. With both Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi still leading the way, Barcelona have a strong enough defense with enough depth to expect great things.
