Along came former Barcelona president Joan Laporta then and took over the club once more. While people certainly may have divided opinions about his current tenure at the club, there is simply no denying the numbers that prove that the squad’s overall valuation has gone up since his return.

As highlighted by SPORT, when the current Barcelona president took over in 2021, the squad’s overall value was set around €814 million and had an average age of around 25.5 years. At the time, players like Frenkie de Jong (€90 million), Lionel Messi (€80 million), and Pedri (€70 million).

Now, however, the dynamics of the squad have completely changed. No longer burdened by the baggage that the old team was handling at the time, Laporta’s arrival has enabled Barcelona to get back on the right track again. In terms of both value and performance on the pitch, there is a clear improvement.

From Xavi Hernandez to Hansi Flick, the new focus on youth development by the coaches has certainly paid off for the team. Thanks to emerging talents from La Masia and the improving performances of other players, the squad’s overall value has now surged as well.

Now, the Barcelona squad value stands at an impressive €1.02 billion, and the average squad age has also slightly decreased at around 25 years now. Both of these values are impressive, and they showcase a quality squad that is both at an elite level and built for the future as well.

Led by the likes of Lamine Yamal (€180 million), Pedri (€120 million), and Pau Cubarsi (€70 million), it is a team full of class and young talent. Now competing for three titles this season, Barcelona look the strongest they have in recent years and Laporta has managed to turn the team into a true threat on the European stage.
