FC Barcelona celebrated their La Liga title in style alongside their fans, in a packed Spotify Camp Nou, after beating their biggest rivals Real Madrid on Sunday night.
Hansi Flick’s side put the game on track early thanks to quick goals from Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres, sparking early celebrations among the home supporters.
After the final whistle, the Barça players celebrated on the pitch at the Spotify Camp Nou, leaving behind memorable images, with Eric Garcia’s interview on TV3 standing out in particular.
The Barça defender spoke to TV3, where he was asked about the altercation that took place days before the Clasico, between Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni, who still started the match despite everything.
The TV3 journalist did not miss the chance to ask him: “Half seriously and half jokingly, but we have to ask: how many memes have you sent each other about Tchouameni and Valverde?”
On hearing the question, Garcia’s expression said it all, but he could not help laughing.
‘Well, obviously, it came as a surprise to the whole team, but anyway, today we’ll enjoy the victory and let them get on with what they have to do,” he replied.
Still smiling, the journalist followed up: “Did you just say they should keep fighting?” The Barça defender quickly clarified: “No.”
It is worth remembering that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez imposed a €500,000 fine on both Tchouameni and Valverde, an unprecedented figure in the club’s recent history.
It was another episode that highlighted the difficult moment Real Madrid are going through, even as Barcelona continue to soar under Flick’s guidance.
