Following their defeat to Real Madrid over the weekend, FC Barcelona began preparations for their upcoming match against Elche with a training session today.

Pedri became the latest injury casualty and did not train with the rest of the group, working alone inside the gym, while the other injured stars were also absent.

No Rashford, Cubarsi

In addition to the absence of injured players, including the recently sidelined Pedri, Hansi Flick was also without Marcus Rashford and Pau Cubarsi in Wednesday’s training session, reports Mundo Deportivo.

Indeed, both the forward and the defender did not participate in today’s training session, missing it with the club’s permission.

The forward is currently in Manchester, where he travelled during the rest day granted by Flick. Rashford shared several images on his Instagram account showing himself training in a gym in England.

As for Cubarsi, it is unclear as to why he did not train at the Ciutat Esportiva, but his absence was granted by the club.

More updates

After a day off, the available players resumed training at the Ciutat Esportiva, with the main updates being the return of Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo, who both worked with the group.

Lewandowski is expected to be available for Sunday’s match against Elche, while the club is taking a cautious approach with the midfielder, given his long history of injuries.

Joan Garcia also began working on the pitch, and, like with Olmo, no risks will be taken with the Spanish goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, from the reserve team, Flick once again included goalkeepers Diego Kochen and Eder Aller, as well as Jofre Torrents, Dro, Toni Fernandez, and Xavi Espart.
