Barcelona enquire about €6m-rated left-back amid Real Madrid competition | OneFootball

It is no secret that Barcelona are always scanning the market to look for worthy opportunities, both domestically and abroad. 

Now, one of the latest players to catch the attention of the club’s sporting department is much closer to home. 

According to information shared by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are closely following Dani Bernabeu, a 19-year-old left-back currently playing for second division side Albacete.

Not alone in the race

The report states that Barcelona have already made initial contact with Albacete to express their interest in the defender. 

Importantly, they are not alone, as Real Madrid have also enquired about the player, which explains the growing competition for promising domestic profiles. 

Albacete’s response has been clear, stating that any club interested in Bernabeu must meet his release clause, which stands at €6 million.

His performances have been increasingly consistent, showing maturity, energy and tactical discipline. 

One of the defining moments of his rise came during a historic Copa del Rey tie in which Albacete eliminated Real Madrid. 

Bernabeu’s display in that match significantly raised his profile and reinforced the belief that he could compete at a higher level.

Despite not being a starter yet, Bernabeu’s development has not gone unnoticed, and his minutes are expected to increase as the season progresses.

From Barcelona’s perspective, the club is always keen to reinforce its defensive options with young, adaptable players who can grow within the system.
