Although they play in different domestic leagues, the rivalry between FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain has grown to a significant extent in the last few years, both on and off the pitch. The two sides have met several times in the UCL, trading blows that have favored one or the other side over the years.

Meanwhile, the two clubs have also been fighting in the transfer market, and the Parisians struck the last blow as they snatched Dro Fernandez from the Blaugrana side in the last winter market.

However, Le Parisien (via SPORT) notes that the Catalans could get their revenge quickly by stealing one of the most promising prospects in the Ligue 1 side’s academy, i.e., the fullback David Boly.

Barcelona are closely monitoring the 17-year-old right back, who is already regarded as one of the standout prospects in France and has even made his debut with the PSG first team under Luis Enrique.

He has also been part of the club’s long-term plans, with PSG viewing him as a key future player and aiming to fully integrate him into the senior squad in the coming season.

However, his contract situation has created uncertainty, as his current deal runs until 2027 and he has not accepted recent renewal offers from the Paris club, something that has caused growing frustration internally.

Boly’s development has been followed closely across Europe, and he is expected to feature in the Coupe Gambardella final on May 22 at the Stade de France, an occasion that will attract further attention from top clubs.

Barcelona have reportedly positioned themselves as strong observers of the situation, aware that the player could be reachable if he continues to delay signing a new contract, potentially opening the door to a future agreement ahead of a free transfer scenario once he becomes eligible in 2027.

For PSG, the priority is to secure the long-term future of one of their most highly rated academy prospects and ensure he remains part of their pathway to the first team, especially amid growing external interest.

For Barcelona, the situation also carries an added layer after PSG previously snatched Dro Fernandez from their academy, adding further weight to their interest in Boly as the rivalry between the two clubs continues to play out in the youth market.
