Barcelona frontline debate intensifies as two forwards shine | OneFootball

The recent 6-0 win over Valencia was a statement victory from FC Barcelona. After some underwhelming performances at the start of the season, the team now looks to have found their winning formula. However, some uncertainties are yet to be sorted out.

For Hansi Flick, it is important for every position in the team to be covered well and to have depth. However, one position where this has now created confusion is the centre-forward position at the top of the team’s attack.

As highlighted by MARCA, the dilemma for Flick is that he has to now choose between Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres. Unfortunately for the German coach, they both present a solid case.

At the start of the season, Lewandowski’s performances dwindled a bit. Torres, on the other hand, took advantage of that and ended up delivering some great performances and finding the back of the net as well.

However, in the most recent game against Valencia, it was Lewandowski who arguably shone even brighter despite not getting a lot of minutes. The Polish veteran scored a brace, and his performance was top-notch in general.

Now, however, Flick will need to figure out which striker deserves to start for Barcelona moving forward. It would either be Lewandowski with his immense experience and scoring pedigree, or Torres with his youth and more energetic approach to better enable the team to be fluid on and off the ball.
