La Liga giants Barcelona are set to be given the green light to play out their opening European fixtures of the campaign at the newly-renovated Spotify Camp Nou.
That’s according to journalist José Alvarez Haya of El Chiringuito TV, who has early this week provided the latest on the situation.
Barcelona are of course primed to get their Champions League campaign up and running this coming week, in a trip to Newcastle United.
Beyond as much, though, it had been entirely unclear where the Blaugrana would be able to host their first home fixtures in the competition.
All of the Estadi Johan Cruyff, Montjuïc, and Camp Nou had been labelled as potential venues over recent weeks.
This comes amid the ongoing renovation works at the latter.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then the Barca faithful look set to have their wishes answered over the weeks ahead.
As per a report from the aforementioned José Alvarez Haya:
‘Barca will play Real Sociedad and PSG at Camp Nou. The next league matchday, against Getafe, will take place at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.’
