It was essential for FC Barcelona to secure a good result over Newcastle United in their recent game. Fortunately, the Catalan side managed to secure all three points and have started off their UCL campaign in the best way possible.

However, there was definitely a reason for Hansi Flick’s side to be concerned after the game. Spanish defender Pau Cubarsi seemed to be limping, and the bandage on his leg during the game definitely did not help matters, as he had to come off at a point.

Fortunately, however, SPORT has revealed that it was nothing more than a knock. As a result, Cubarsi is expected to be fit for the upcoming La Liga game against Getafe, and this is great news for Barça heading into the match.

The case of Lamine Yamal, however, is different from that of Cubarsi’s. Still experiencing pain in his pubic region, the 18-year-old Spanish winger is not expected to return for the upcoming game against Getafe either.

While he continues to work daily to improve his current physical situation, Yamal’s involvement in the upcoming game is doubtful for now. However, the report claims that both the player and the club are in agreement that there is no need to rush him back just yet.

Yet, the plan right now is to have him back for the game against Real Sociedad, and most importantly, for the match against Paris-Saint Germain at the Montjuic Stadium. Until then, however, it is best to ensure that the Barcelona star continues to recover at a steady rate.
