FC Barcelona are coming off an impressive 3–1 win over Atlético Madrid in La Liga. It was their first big win of the season, and the performance offered plenty of hope for what lies ahead. The return of Raphinha and Pedri helped massively.

The focus turns to Saturday’s visit to Seville at La Cartuja, a demanding venue and a crucial stop in Barcelona’s effort to strengthen their position as league leaders. Hansi Flick finally has some positive news in midfield after a string of injury setbacks.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, and Fermin Lopez all trained with the group and are expected to be named in the squad. The only major absentee is Dani Olmo, who dislocated his shoulder against Atlético and is expected to miss several weeks.

De Jong has recovered from the fever that kept him out of the last league match against Atletico Madrid and completed training with good sensations. Pedri, who finished the Atletico match with cramps, trained normally and has no lingering issues.

Fermin Lopez has made a quick recovery from a soleus injury, and while he may start the match on the bench, his presence is valuable at a time when Barcelona lack attacking midfield depth. He is also being considered for a starting role in next week’s Champions League meeting with Eintracht Frankfurt.

After three consecutive home league fixtures, Barcelona now look to continue their upward trajectory away from the Camp Nou. Their performance against Real Betis will offer another clue about the direction of the team in this decisive period of the campaign.

A lot rides on how Flick manages to keep his players fit in the weeks to come. Doing so will enhance Barcelona’s prospects and help solidify their position as league leaders. Only time will tell how they fare against Betis and what follows.
