There is no denying the fact that FC Barcelona are working to improve their financial situation as soon as possible. At the moment, there are a lot of restrictions on the club that are simply not ideal. Thus, it is in the best interests of Barcelona to address the issue sooner rather than later.

On that note, it is also quite important due to the club’s inability to pursue their desired targets this summer. The longer they wait, the more likely it is that some other club could end up taking away their transfer targets this summer.

After all, the likes of Bayern Munich have already started to make formal advances towards their transfer targets, directly referring to Barcelona target Luis Diaz. To ensure that they can compete on that front as well, the Catalan giants need to get back to the 1:1 rule as soon as possible.

One way of doing that is through generating revenue and finding new sponsorships. Fortunately, it seems that Barcelona are now in advanced negotiations to secure a rather useful sponsorship that could be announced soon.

According to the information provided by SPORT, Barcelona are now in advanced negotiations with the Republic of Congo to reach an agreement over a new sponsorship. This particular sponsorship would involve the club wearing a special slogan on one of their kits:

“RDC, cœur de l’Afrique”

This French phrase directly translates to “DRC, Heart of Africa”. The difference between RDC and DRC is due to language differences, with it being referred to as République Démocratique du Congo or ‘RDC’ in French, whereas it is the Democratic Republic of the Congo or ‘DRC’ in English.

A rather lucrative deal for the club

Despite several offers being on the table, this is the negotiation that seems to be in the most advanced stage. In terms of the monetary value of the deal, it is expected to generate around €40 million for Barcelona.

Previously, another report also confirmed that the exact same sponsorship was the one that Barcelona were dealing with and even suggested that an agreement had been reached. However, with this particular report, the update is that the deal’s negotiations are at an advanced stage.

To remain on the safe side of things, it is better to assume that the deal is currently in an advanced stage. As per this report, however, the official announcement of the deal could even take place as soon as next week, before the team’s start of the preseason tour.
