Barcelona have enjoyed immense success when it comes to nurturing young players from La Masia, which has given them a supply of first-team players quite consistently.

Barça, though, are not taking La Masia‘s success for granted, and are constantly looking for ways to add more quality to the youth teams.

Keeping that in mind, Barça are closely monitoring Danish prodigy Mikkel Bro Hansen, who is regarded as the next big thing in Scandinavian football.

Barcelona intensify interest in Bro Hansen

According to SPORT, Barcelona have intensified their interest in Mikkel Bro Hansen lately.

The 16-year-old striker currently plays for Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt and has impressed Barça scouts, who recently watched him in action during a Denmark U-16 match against England.

The interest was further confirmed by Danish Scout, who claims that Barcelona are pushing harder to land the youngster, although competition is high.

Clubs from England, Germany, and Italy are also monitoring his development, while Bodo/Glimt want him to first break into the senior team before sanctioning any move.

Bro Hansen has enjoyed a breakout season with six goals and two assists in the Norwegian Cup, along with three goals for the Danish U-16 national team.

His performances have earned him a market valuation of around half a million. Barcelona remain keen to bring him in as part of their continued focus on scouting top talents for La Masia.

The report does indicate that Bro Hansen is an avid follower of Barcelona, as he follows the Barça, Barça B, and La Masia, as well as players like Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, and Guille Fernandez, on social media.

Whether or not that will translate into a move to Barcelona remains to be seen.
