Barcelona are constantly keeping track of the transfer market and are expected to sign multiple players in the summer of 2026.

While signing a new defender is certainly on the agenda, Barcelona are also keeping tabs on many attackers, as they look to find more depth on the flanks.

One of the players Barcelona are monitoring is Sail El Mala, who has emerged as one of the rising stars in the Bundesliga this season, reports Diario SPORT.

Who is Said El Mala?

A German with Libyan descent, Said El Mala’s rise to prominence began last season when he scored 14 goals during his time on loan at Viktoria Koln.

Since returning to Koln, El Mala has racked up four goals in ten matches while mustering two assists. He is one of the best-performing rookies in the Bundesliga this season.

El Mala’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with Hansi Flick and his staff reportedly impressed with the way the winger has performed in the Bundesliga.

The youngster’s performances have also earned him a call-up to the German national team. Although the player didn’t make his debut against Luxembourg, it will be interesting to see whether he appears against Slovakia.

Barcelona, for their part, are closely monitoring El Mala’s progress, but given the player’s growth path, the club must make a move soon before the player’s valuation skyrockets.

At age 19, El Mala is already valued at €18 million by Transfermarkt. But the report suggests that Koln have firmly set an asking price of €30 million for the attacker.

Barcelona’s interest in El Mala comes at a time when there has been increased question marks on Dani Olmo’s future at the club, with Barça reportedly receiving a €75 million bid from Bayern Munich for the Spanish international.
