Barcelona are preparing for a major attacking reshuffle, and one name that has entered an uncertain zone is Ferran Torres.
While the Spaniard remains an important squad player, recent developments suggest his future at the club is no longer guaranteed.
It is known that Barcelona want to bring in a new striker while also working on the renewal of Robert Lewandowski.
However, this strategy creates a knock-on effect that could directly impact Ferran Torres.
According to a report from SPORT, the sporting department at Barcelona does not see the need to carry three natural strikers in the squad.
With that in mind, a decision regarding Ferran’s role is expected to be made in the coming weeks.
While Barcelona still value the Spaniard and plan to communicate their trust in him, they will be transparent about the reality of the situation.
The idea is to keep Ferran involved, but not as a guaranteed starter. He would continue to receive minutes and remain part of the rotation, especially given his versatility across the front line.

However, the arrival of a new striker with a different profile would inevitably push him further down the pecking order.
Barcelona’s dream target for that role is Julian Alvarez. If both Lewandowski’s renewal and a new signing are completed, Ferran would likely be the casualty.
Simply put, he would be the one to be sold in the summer.
No shortage of suitors
This is where the transfer market begins to play a role.
Ferran is not short of interest, particularly within Spain. One club closely monitoring his situation is Atletico Madrid, where sporting director Mateu Alemany has long admired the player.
A move to the Spanish capital could become a realistic option if Barcelona decide to open the door for his departure.
Contractually, Ferran is tied to Barcelona until 2027, but the club has a clear policy of avoiding situations where players enter the final year of their deals without clarity.
At this stage, though, nothing has been finalised, as much will depend on how Barcelona’s transfer plans unfold, particularly regarding Lewandowski’s future and the potential arrival of a new striker.
