Barcelona ‘making progress’ in move for Monaco star | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona are advancing in transfer negotiations, to bring in a member of the defensive ranks at French outfit AS Monaco.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing UOL Esporte in Brazil, who point towards Vanderson as the player in question.

Vanderson, for his part, has seen his name linked with that of Barcelona on a number of occasions in the past.

The 23-year-old, who chiefly operates at right-back, is understood to boast several keen admirers in the boardroom at the Camp Nou.

Vanderson is fresh off another fine campaign on the books of the aforementioned Monaco, which saw the Brazilian international rack up two goals and five assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

And such production, it is now claimed, has piqued the attentions of Deco and co. once more.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘From Brazil, UOL report that Barça are “making progress” in negotiations to sign 23-year-old Brazilian full-back Vanderson. According to this information, the Catalan club have intensified talks with Monaco, trusting in the seven-time Brazil international’s preference to play for a club with Barça’s potential.’

It is also noted, though, that the priority at the Camp Nou remains the signing of a new goalkeeper – Joan García – and left winger – Nico Williams is the current favourite.
