According to a recent update from Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona midfield prodigy Tommy Marques has attracted strong interest from several Premier League clubs in recent months. 

However, the transfer market specialist reports that despite this growing attention, Barcelona remain calm and confident about the youngster’s future, as the club has no plans to sanction his departure.

Interestingly, Marques trained with the first team yesterday – on the same day he celebrated his 19th birthday, and it was not a coincidence. 

Hansi Flick reportedly wanted to assess the youngster closely as a potential solution in light of Pedri’s injury, which is expected to keep the midfield star sidelined for around six to seven weeks.

Pedri’s absence has once again pushed Barcelona to turn to La Masia for depth, and Marques has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting options. 

The teenager, who currently plays a crucial role for Barça Atletic, has developed a reputation for his physical presence and composure on the ball.

Given his recent performances and Flick’s growing admiration, there is a realistic chance that Marques could receive his first-ever senior squad call-up for Barcelona’s upcoming La Liga clash against Elche. 

The young midfielder is expected to continue training with the first team on Friday, and if all goes according to plan, he could even make Flick’s matchday list.

With the manager’s willingness to trust youth and the player’s evident quality, the 19-year-old might soon become the latest success story from La Masia’s production line.
