FC Barcelona went into their game against Deportivo Alaves on Saturday evening with some notable absences.
Ronald Araujo was not a part of the squad as he was out with a stomach bug. Meanwhile, key midfielder Frenkie de Jong also missed the match due to personal reasons.
As Barcelona get set to take on Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, there is mixed news for the team, with regard to De Jong and Araujo’s availability.
According to Javi Miguel of AS, De Jong will be available on Tuesday against Atletico Madrid, but Araujo will not be ready.
It should be remembered that the midfield superstar withdrew from the game against Alaves at the new Spotify Camp Nou at the last minute on Saturday due to personal issues.
In his absence, with Pedri not ready to start, Hansi Flick had to rely on the midfield pairing of Marc Casado and Marc Bernal.

Now, though, the Dutch midfielder arrived this morning at the Ciutat Esportiva and trained without any problems, which means his presence against Simeone’s side is fully guaranteed.
As for Araujo, the Uruguayan has still not appeared at the club’s facilities to train today, so he is practically ruled out for Tuesday.
Barcelona stated that the player is recovering from a stomach virus. At the same time, his red card against Chelsea affected him deeply, and the Blaugrana are using this time to shield him.
In any case, Araujo is expected to be ready for Saturday’s match against Real Betis at Estadio La Cartuja.
Meanwhile, Barcelona will also be without Gavi, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and Fermin Lopez for the game against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
