Marc Bernal has taken a decisive step forward in his Barcelona career after confirming that he is now fully fit following his important contribution against Copenhagen.
The Champions League clash did not just mark another appearance for the young midfielder, but a genuine turning point in his season and his standing within the squad.
The academy graduate was introduced in the second half at a critical moment. With Barcelona trailing 0-1 and visibly unsettled, Bernal was called upon after Eric Garcia requested to be substituted due to dizziness.
The midfielder responded with maturity, calmness, and authority, reinforcing the belief that he is ready to play a meaningful role for the first team.
After the match, Bernal was clear about where he stands physically and mentally.
“I’m now at 100%,” he said after the final whistle, as per Mundo Deportivo, before revealing what was said inside the dressing room at the break.
“The coach told us at halftime to be patient, that the spaces would open up and the goals would come.”

It must be noted that Bernal has been linked with a loan move away from Barcelona this month. However, the player left no room for ambiguity when asked about his future at the club.
“My intention has always been to stay. It’s my life, it’s my badge, and it will always be that way.”
Notably, Bernal has spent a full year away from competitive football due to injury.
He acknowledged that the road back has been slower than many might expect, but one he understands completely.
Flick had already prepared him for that reality. As Bernal explained, the Barcelona coach was clear from the start about what the process would look like.
“He told me it would be a long process and that these minutes would be good for me to get back into rhythm and continue in this dynamic.”
Lastly, when asked whether he now feels ready to start matches, Bernal kept his feet firmly on the ground. “I’m 100% fit, and it’s the coach’s decision.”
