With the arrival of Joan Garcia already wrapped up and the signing of Marcus Rashford now set to be completed, the squad looks strengthened. However, Barcelona are not just focused on bringing in new players without reinforcing what they already have.

When it comes to the current pre-existing squad, Barça is working hard to renew the contracts of their most important players. Already this summer, the likes of Lamine Yamal and even veteran goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny have renewed their respective contracts.

Now, it seems that Barcelona are closing in on another important agreement in that regard. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants are now confident about reaching an agreement for the contract renewal of French defender Jules Kounde.

The club is reportedly optimistic about this potential agreement after recent talks and discussions with the 26-year-old Barcelona star’s representative. In an ideal scenario, La Blaugrana would reportedly like to wrap up Kounde’s renewal before the end of August as long as it complies with La Liga’s Financial Fair Play regulations.

Other renewals are being worked on as well

Even aside from Kounde, Barcelona is working on other renewals as well. In fact, including the contract of the Frenchman, there are three renewals that the Catalan club is primarily working on. It seems that the club is really giving priority to the medium and long-term continuity of the players this summer as well.

Moreover, with Kounde already being at the club and Eric Garcia being there as his alternative option, the club reportedly sees the right-back position as being well-covered. Thus, it makes it quite interesting to observe what the next move is for the Catalan giants this summer.
