Following the renewal of Lamine Yamal, Barcelona have set their sights on renewing two more key players in the form of Jules Kounde and Frenkie de Jong.
Kounde is reportedly close to signing a new deal at Camp Nou, and the talks involving de Jong, too, appear to be moving fast.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have formally offered Frenkie de Jong a two-year contract extension that would see his current deal, set to expire in 2026, extended until 2028.
The proposal also includes an optional additional year based on his performance, potentially tying the Dutch midfielder to the club until 2029.
However, negotiations remain complicated. De Jong, 28, is still resolving a dispute with his current representative, Ali Dursun.

Until de Jong is able to officially break his agreement with Dursun, he cannot appoint a new agent or legal point of contact to facilitate discussions with Barcelona.
The club are waiting for the midfielder to clarify his legal representation before advancing talks.
Despite these off-field hurdles, de Jong’s influence on the pitch has only grown. After returning from an ankle injury, he finished last season as Hansi Flick’s preferred pivot.
Flick values de Jong’s mix of technical ability and experience, seeing him as a cornerstone in the project alongside Pedri.
Although competition is heating up in the Barcelona midfield, especially with Marc Bernal closing in on a return, de Jong will play a key role in an otherwise inexperienced Barcelona setup.
For now, Barcelona will be closely following the recent development between Dursun and de Jong before moving forward with an official renewal offer.
